Tapes

  • Gummed paper tape, also known as kraft paper tape or water-activated tape, is a type of adhesive tape made from paper that is coated with a water-soluble adhesive. It is commonly used for sealing boxes and packages, and it is particularly effective for securing heavy or large items because it has a strong hold and is resistant to tearing. The tape is applied using a moistening agent, such as water or a special activating solution, which activates the adhesive and helps it to bond to the surface of the package. Once applied, the tape becomes strong and secure, providing a reliable seal that can withstand handling and shipping.

Strong adhesion: Gummed paper tape has a strong adhesive bond and can hold up well under heavy loads or rough handling.

Durability: The paper backing of gummed paper tape is resistant to tearing and splitting, making it a durable choice for sealing boxes and packages.

Eco-friendliness: Gummed paper tape is made from paper, a renewable resource, and is fully biodegradable, making it an environmentally friendly choice.

Customisation: Gummed paper tape can be printed on, allowing for customisation with branding or other information.

Versatility: Gummed paper tape can be used on a variety of surfaces, including cardboard, paper, and plastic, making it a versatile choice for a range of packaging needs.

  • Reinforced gummed paper tape is a type of tape that is made from paper and coated with a water-activated adhesive. It is reinforced with fibres, such as fiberglass or polyester, to give it added strength and durability.

Strong and durable: The reinforcing fibres give the tape added strength and durability, making it suitable for use in heavy-duty packaging applications.

Water-activated adhesive: The water-activated adhesive allows the tape to bond securely to a variety of surfaces, including cardboard, paper, and plastic.

  • Heat-activated paper tape, also known as thermal bonding tape or heat seal tape, is a type of adhesive tape that is activated by heat. It is commonly used for sealing boxes and packages, as well as for laminating and bonding a wide range of materials. Heat-activated paper tape has a coating of thermoplastic adhesive on one side, which becomes activated and bondable when heated to a certain temperature. The tape is applied to a surface using a heat source which activates the adhesive and allows it to bond to the surface. Once applied and cooled, the tape becomes strong and secure, providing a reliable seal that can withstand handling and shipping.

The coated material is in a non-tacky state until heat is applied, which activates the bonding property. When heat and pressure are applied, the tape is activated, and ultimately provides an extremely high bond.

Strong bonding: Heat activated tape can provide a strong, permanent bond when applied to surfaces.

No need for additional adhesives: Because the tape becomes adhesive when heated, there is no need for additional adhesives or solvent-based products, making the process simpler and more efficient.

Versatility: Heat activated tape can be used on a wide range of materials, including plastics, metals, and composites, making it a versatile bonding solution.

Ease of use: Heat activated tape is easy to apply and has a range of machine options for easy activation.

Improved durability: Heat activated tape can provide a more durable bond compared to other types of adhesives, making it suitable for use in demanding applications.

Coated Papers

  • VCI (vapor corrosion inhibitor) paper is a type of paper that is coated with a corrosion-inhibiting chemical compound. It is used to protect metal surfaces from corrosion by forming a barrier around the metal that prevents moisture and other corrosive elements from meeting it. VCI paper is often used to protect metal parts during storage and transportation, and it is particularly effective for long-term storage or for protecting metal parts that are susceptible to corrosion. The VCI compound used in VCI paper is typically a water-soluble film or coating that evaporates over time, leaving a thin layer of protective film on the metal surface. As such, it is recommended that products are rewrapped every 2-3 years. This film helps to prevent corrosion by inhibiting the formation of rust and other corrosive agents on the metal surface. The paper can be treated as normal paper waste and is recyclable.

Protects metal parts: VCI paper can help protect metal parts from corrosion during storage or transportation by releasing a corrosion-inhibiting vapor that forms a protective layer on the surface of the metal.

Non-toxic and safe: VCI paper is non-toxic and safe to use, making it suitable for use in a wide range of industries and applications.
